Corinto is a small port town on the Pacific Ocean. The world seems to slow down as you enter this city. Most of the people you see are either walking or riding their bikes down the city’s main road. People here are warm and friendly. Of the approximate 20,000 people who live here, it seems like children and youth make up the majority of that number. This is important to us, because we want to minister to the children, youth, and young adults of Corinto. We have been in Nicaragua for over 5 years, and over a year of that has been here in Corinto. We are currently involved in youth activities, feeding centers, preaching and teaching in the local churches, and Ben is currently training and discipling several young men in carpentry. Our goals are to eventually build a skills center on the property that will include everything from : after-school help, a feeding center, and a skills center. The skills center will be where Ben will disciple young men in the Word, while giving them a skill that can be used to earn a living. We are hoping to include carpentry, welding, metal work, and engine repair and maintenance. The building will also serve as a ministry center where we will hold bible studies, youth events, and pastors' conferences. Our primary goal is to minister to the hearts of people and to see their life transformed. If we can do that, along with meeting people's physical needs, and putting tools in their hands that will help them provide for their families, we feel that it would be the best of both worlds! Thank you for your part in ministering to the needs and lives of the people in Corinto, Nicaragua.
